Milton Keynes Sporting Lunch Club first came into existence in Best Cellars Wine Bar in 1992. From humble beginnings, it has outgrown many venues and now meets
at Jurys Inn CMK five times a year.
It raises money for SportsAid, the National Charity for sport, who working with the governing bodies of sport, support over 2000 talented young sports people each year.
All monies raised in Milton Keynes are ring fenced for the borough and recent well known recipients include Joey Duck, Chris Clarke and Greg Rutherford.
At the last Olympics in Beijing 19 gold medals were brought home by former Sportsaid recipients and famous alumi include Seb Coe, Sally Gunnell, Torville and Dean, Sharon Davies,
Paula Radcliffe, Tanni Grey-Thompson, Chris Hoy and Rebecca Adlington. Non Olympic recipients have been Graham Thorpe, Ian Bell, Justin Rose, and many more.
Corporate Sponsors and other companies book tables of ten or twelve at the lunches as the events are well known for providing good sporting speakers, a great atmosphere and a wonderful
networking opportunity. Individual applications are welcomed and interesting tables are put together.
